Fall is finally here and one of our favorite things about the season is the FOOD! There are so many things to enjoy and as the weather cools down it’s the perfect time to cook up a new recipe or just bundle up and enjoy a hot beverage. Whatever you may please, fall and eating just go together like pumpkin and spice. Here’s what your friends at Love with Food love to eat during the fall season!
Ira, Customer Happiness Manager
Favorite fall food: Stuffing
“I love stuffing, specifically my mothers (she’d kill me otherwise!) mostly because you can only eat this during the holiday season. You can eat turkey, chicken and roast pig any other time of the year, but when you’re celebrating Fall and Thanksgiving- you gotta have one bowl of stuffing in one hand and a freshly baked apple pie in the other!”
Katie, Brand Partnership Manager
Favorite fall food: Butternut Squash
“Every fall I look forward to serving butternut squash. I love butternut squash soup, my favorite pasta dish includes butternut squash, pancetta, and sage, and I’ve even been known to include butternut squash in my desserts! That’s right, butternut squash bread pudding is even better than pumpkin bread pudding in my book.”
Stephanie, Brand Partnership Manager
Favorite fall food: Persimmons
“To me fall is the crispness in the air, bundling up and buying beautiful persimmons from my local Farmers’ Market”
Masha, Customer Happiness Team Member
Favorite fall food: Brussel Sprouts
“Roasted brussel sprouts is one of my favorite fall side dishes. I like to enjoy them simply with garlic and carrots, it’s the perfect comfort food for a cold day! They also make for a fun photo shoot!”
Steven, Marketing Director
Favorite fall food: Pumpkin Flax Granola
“Having lived around Berkeley, I’ve come to appreciate granola. I love Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola by Nature’s Path in the mornings over peaches and yogurt, and in the evenings as cereal for dessert!”
Lisa, Logistics and Office Manager
Favorite fall food: Pumpkin Pie
“Pumpkin pie is my favorite fall food. Pumpkin pie is an American tradition and delicious! It’s the only kind of pie I have eaten with my entire family. I like pumpkin pie because it reminds me of a time to celebrate, gather together and give thanks for all we have, i.e., family, friends, food, jobs and God.”
Nadia, E-commerce Manager
Favorite fall food: Ramen
“Having always loved noodles since I was a little kid, my ramen obsession started with eating instant noodles almost everyday since high school. That eventually evolved into developing a more refined ramen palate. These days, I can not resist slurping up the most yummy bowl of ramen with a super tasty broth, perfect chewy noodles, and topped with a seasoned soft boiled egg of course!”
Katie, Photographer/Videographer
Favorite fall beverage: Chai Latte
“What’s a girl to do when fall arrives, the pumpkin craze is on the loose and you really don’t like pumpkin flavored anything? I tend to feel a bit left out, but a great substitute is chai flavored anything. Specifically, I love to treat myself to a chai latte. It’s great for the Fall, all of the spices paired with the warm and frothy milk makes for the perfect cozy get away. So take THAT pumpkin! I don’t need you.”
George, Software Developer
“George doesn’t have any favorite Fall food since there’s no Fall in the Philippines. However, he does like to cook Sinigang on cold, rainy days. As long as the spices come prepacked in a sachet. And the vegetables are lettuce, carrots, and sweet peas. And the meat is boiled egg. He can only cook instant ramen.”
Aihui, Founder and CEO
Favorite fall beverage: Mulled Wine
“Mulled wine is so delicious and easy to make, plus it makes your home smell like Christmas!”
Zory, Graphic/Web Designer
Favorite fall food: Pumpkin everything!
“I think for my favorite food I’ll go with pumpkin pie, pumpkin latte, pumpkin everything
I don’t really eat pumpkin the rest of the year and when fall comes and the pumpkin craze hits everyone I follow (haha). Especially when I’m home where fall comes with all sorts of red, yellow and orange colors everywhere, it looks like the trees are on fire”
Xiang, Developer
Favorite fall food: Lotus Root and Rib Soup
“My favorite food in fall is Lotus Root and Rib Soup. It’s a traditional Chinese food. It’s easy to find, easy to cook, delicious, and We usually eat Lotus Root in fall locally. I’d like to add some corns into the soup.”
Jasmine, Social Media Manager
Favorite fall food: Peach Cobbler
“My favorite Fall food has got to be the Peach Cobbler, accompanied with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream! The best peach cobbler should feature the flavors of cinnamon, pecan, and nutmeg as well. Hmm, yummy… just thinking about it makes my mouth water!”
Miguel, Front-end / UX Lead
Favorite fall food: Candy Corn
“I used to really like Halloween as a kid because of all the costumes. During that time, my Mom would always buy us a bag of Candy corn and I would go crazy on them.”
