Sushi is an almost flawless dish - the only real problem is that there never seems to be enough, right? Well this recipes solves that, and more. We took the sushi everyone knows and loves and put it all together into a California roll casserole that will blow whatever you had planned for dinner out of the water.
Here’s what you’ll need:
-2 cups white rice or sushi rice
-4 Tbs Mizkan brand sushi rice seasoning
-10 oz package of Imitation crab
-3 Tbs Mayonnaise
-2 Cucumbers thinly sliced
-2 Avocados thinly sliced
-Furikake (seaweed) seasoning flakes
-Masago (orange fish roe) (optional)
-Nori (seaweed)
Here’s what to do:
Cook rice in rice cooker. When done cooking, transfer rice to mixing bowl and fold in sushi seasoning. Set aside to cool. Layer half of sushi rice in 8×8 pan and press rice with another 8×8 pan. Sprinkle Furikake seasoning flakes over rice.
In a separate bowl, combine imitation crab with mayonnaise. Assemble the casserole by layering the cucumber, avocado and crab mixture over the rice. Then top with the rest of the sushi rice and press down with 8×8 pan.
Sprinkle furikake seasoning and Masago on top of entire dish. Serve with Nori & enjoy!
