The holidays are awesome, but it can get tough to get through a time of year centered around food when you have to stay on guard for gluten. But we all know you’re tough enough to power through and still have a great time, so we’ve got a list of 10 things that we all know happen to those of us who have to stay gluten-free during the holidays. We’ve all been there.

Pillsbury is such a tease.
2. And then stocking up on this stuff.

Who needs Pillsbury, amirite? I’ll show you.
3. That call from your mother (or mother-in-law) asking if you’re bringing something to Christmas dinner for yourself or “were you going to eat before?”
I get it, Mom. Don’t worry you don’t have to bother about your child.
4. Resigning yourself to chips and dip at the holiday party…
I’m glad you all are enjoying all of the actual good food.
5. …or bringing your own gluten-free food and knowing that no else is going to touch it.
Ohhhh nah you probably won’t like it, it’s gluten-free. Yeeeah.
Sucker.
6. Having to refuse that nice neighbor kid when he comes by with gingerbread cookies he just made all by himself.
Sweet child, you know not what you do. Maybe next time try out one of these?
7. The inevitable moment at the big family dinner when someone passes you a food you can’t eat and someone else says “oh no, you won’t eat that, right?”
No, because i will get VIOLENTLY ILL.
8. When you’ve had enough and someone suddenly asks who should host the holidays next year.
I will shoulder this burden (and make all the food for meeee).
9. That moment when you remember that the holidays are awesome, whether you can eat gluten or not.
Moar eggnog!
