It’s not uncommon as someone on a gluten-free diet to feel a little hesitant to make your dietary restrictions known. No one likes to be the person holding up the waiter when everyone’s starving. But there’s nothing wrong about being gluten-free, so you should never feel wrong with making sure that your food is exactly how you need it. Here are just 10 things that everyone on a gluten-free diet should never feel like they can’t do.
1. Ask a second time if that pizza crust is actually gluten-free.
Just because you ignore me doesn’t mean I’ll go away.
2. Use ALL of those coupons you saved up for gluten-free flour.
Cool your jets, people in line behind me. You’re gonna be wishing you were me when you see what I saved.
3. Try as many recipes as you need to find a gluten-free cookie recipe you actually like.
Because you are not a quitter.
4. Complain about your favorite gluten-free cheesecake being discontinued.
You hurt me so bad.
5. Tell your blind date that you have to go somewhere with GF options.
Our relationship is too fragile for you to see what happens when I consume gluten.
6. Tell your co-worker that you’re not eating the birthday cake because it has gluten.
Look at me as obnoxiously as you want. You’re the ones who’ll be sugar crashing in an hour.
7. Walk away when someone starts talking about how being gluten-free must make you sad.
You no longer exist.
8. Serve your friends your killer GF lasagna recipe - without telling them it’s gluten-free.
Oops. Sorry not sorry.
9. Bring your own snacks to the movies.
Have fun with those sad hot dogs.
10. Be proud of living without gluten.
Imma be me.
