Let’s face it - not every company can be a Fortune 500. Maybe your company’s just starting out, or maybe you prefer to keep things local. Whether your company is big or small, an office kitchen is where the most important part of every workday happens - food breaks. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks - they all revolve around the kitchen. And while just about every office has the basics like a fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave, there are some kitchen tools you don’t realize are important until you need it and don’t have it.
1. GOOD Tupperware
No, we don’t mean that lame plastic stuff. Sure, it’s cheap but after hundreds of uses it starts to fall apart (and smell horrible). There’s likely going to be leftover food in your office, and to make sure it stays good invest in some of that nice glass stuff. Trust us, you’ll be glad later.
2. Knives
Before you start going on about providing employees with knives, think about this: Bad knives don’t cut well. If you’re trying to avoid workplace accidents, invest in one or two solid knives. There are probably going to be people who like to prepare their own food and will need supplies to cut veggies, bread or whatever.
3. Salad spinner
Salads are pretty common workplace lunches (especially this time of year when everyone’s trying to stick to New Year’s resolutions), having a good salad spinner is a godsend. Just be sure to enforce a dishwashing policy!
4. Utensils
Many office managers think that plastic utensils are sufficient for whatever eating their employees might do at work - but really they just end up costing the company more. Invest in some good utensils - reminding people to wash the dishes is better than constantly having to run to Target to buy more forks.
5. Cutting boards
Same thing here as for the knives. While it’s always smart to make sure the counters in your office kitchen are clean, it’s likely they don’t get washed every day. Having a few cutting boards lets everyone at the office get easy meal prep done without messing up the counters.
6. Toaster oven
You might say “well what about just a toaster?” Yeah you could just use a regular toaster, but a toaster oven is way more versatile without taking up too much space.
7. Snacks
The most important part! If your office works hard, their snacks should work hard for them. But instead of constant grocery store runs, let s company like Love With Food take care of it for you. Love With Food will send office snacks right to you every month, and fits with every dietary restriction and taste!
