1 28oz can crushed tomatoes, or 1 14oz can diced tomatoes and 1 14oz can tomato sauce. I personally like to keep it plain tomatoes, but many people have tried Italian tomatoes and like it as well. This part is very flexible.
4 slices of bacon (about 1/2 lb.)
2 1/2 cups macaroni
Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook until tender. While the macaroni is cooking, slice bacon into one inch pieces. Fry in a skillet until crisp.
Drain macaroni and add bacon to the macaroni. Add bacon drippings to taste (I add them all) and tomatoes. Warm through and serve.
My husband likes to sprinkle a little Parmesan on top as well.
