    NOTE:

    Personal Creation

  • Ingredients

1 lb prawn, deshell and devein
1/2 lb ground chicken or pork
1/2 small can of water chestnut
    3 stalks spring onions
    3 stalks of chives
    3-4 tbsp cornstarch
    1 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tsp sesame oil
    2 eggs, loosely beaten
    Salt and pepper, to taste
1 packet of small wonton wrap
    Oil, for frying

    Directions

    1. Prepare the ingredients. Chop the prawn roughly. Chop the water chestnut, spring onions, and chives.

    2. With your hands, mix all the ingredients together, except the wonton wrap and oil.

    3. Take a wonton wrap and place 1 tsp of the shrimp mixture in the center. Wrap to make like a small parcel. Press the middle together so it will stick. You can shape it anyway you please, but I like the parcel shape.

    4. Fry the wontons in hot oil until they turn golden brown.

    5. Serve with chili or plum sauce.

    Chef's Note

Wonton is another word for dumpling. Chinese people love wonton as they look like moneybags and signify wealthiness.
