About:
Ok, I've waited to add to this because my life was not complete. I've finally graduated.I have a bachelors degree in Sociology and a minor in Elementary Ed. I'm a 3rd grade teacher!! A very long time ago, almost 25 years ago, a friend told me that I would be a great teacher( where are you Dr. Halik?). Those words stuck to my heart. I never thought it was what I wanted until I realized that my daughter would soon be going off to college and my need to stay at home was shifting. I decided to go to school. It was hard! I mean hard. Probably because I was a high school drop out. I went on to get my GED but still... hard to go back to school and take classes and discipline myself to read and study! I learned alot though, I know I have much to learn and that there are alot of people who have helped me become a stronger better person.( Oh and in between, I've pubished 3 cookbooks...check out "The Mason Jar Cookbook" by Lonnette Parks in a Barnes and Noble near you!) However, the minute I started teaching, I knew it was part of God's purpose in my life. I am challenged when a child says "I don't get it" because it causes me to explain in a different perspective. But I love the words "Oh, I get it!" from those words, it confirms that I've done my job and I realize I'm being an effective teacher. I love being around kids. They have much to teach me. I have learned so much from them. So here I am. A teacher! My own children are awesome and amazing. I'm so proud of them. I realize that being a good mom and life's experiences have helped me become a better teacher. I'm so very thankful for my family and wonderful friends in my life. So here I go! Chapter 3 in my life. Stay tuned...I know there is more... (oh and cookbook #4 is coming soon) Life is still not complete.
