  • Ingredients

    2 whole Egg Whites at room temperature
    1/4 teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
    1/2 cup Sugar
    1/2 cups Mini M&Ms;
    1/2 cup small pretzel sticks

    Directions

    Preheat oven to 200º.
    Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

    Mix egg whites on high speed with a mixer just until frothy. Add cream of tartar.Continue mixing. Then slowly add sugar Beat until egg whites form stiff peaks.( In my kitchenaid this is about 6 minutes

    Using a spoon, heap a large teaspoonful of “batter” onto your cookie sheets, leaving about 3 inches in between.Top with a smaller spoonful and then a third smaller spoonful. decorate to look like a snowman using pretzel sticks for arms(we use gluten free pretzels but you could use licorice or any other stick like arm) and mini M&Ms; for eyes and buttons.

    Place in the oven and bake for 30-45 minutes. Take cookies out of the oven and let cool. They can be eaten within a few minutes but They must cool for several hours before they can be stored in air tight containers.

    Chef's Note & Story

    we always made "merry meringues" for part of our Christmas baking days (the same recipe as above only mix in 1/2 of mini m&ms, use only one dallop per cookie and decorate with 3-4 mini M's. Saw this variation of meringue cookie and couldn't resist!!! So much fun Photos came from crustabakes. Mine never last long enough to take pictures!!!!
