Chocolate Overload Loaf Cake
Ingredients for the Cake

1 2/3 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 cup superfine sugar
1 1/2 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
Ingredients for Chocolate Syrup

1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1oz semisweet or bittersweet chocolate bar
Recommended Products
1) Preheat oven to 325F.
2) Butter and flour a loaf pan. Use one that's about this size 9.5 x 4.5 inches and 3 inches deep.
3) Add flour, baking soda, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, unsweetened cocoa and sour cream into a mixer. Mix till it becomes a shiny brown batter.
4) Pour in the hot boiling water. Use a rubber spatula to scrap the sides. Turn on mixer again to mix well.
5) Remove mixing bowl from mixer. Add in the chocolate chips and mix well.
6) Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 1 hour. Cake will rise and split down in the middle. Use a toothpick to test the cake. It should come out clean when it's done. However, this is a damp cake, a bit of stickiness may show on the toothpick/cake tester.
7) Remove cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan. Prepare the chocolate syrup.
8) In a small saucepan, add water, cocoa, chocolate bar and sugar. Let it boil for about 5 mins and reduce it to a syrup.
9) While cake is still cooling in the pan, use a toothpick or cake tester to pierce some holes in the cake.
10) Pour syrup onto the cake. Let the cake absorb the syrup slowly.
11) When the cake is completely cooled, remove from the pan.
