Herbed Chicken Pasta

1 pound uncooked linguine
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1) Cook pasta in about 4 quarts of boiling
salted water until al dente.
2) Drain.
3) Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet
over medium high heat until hot.
4) Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic;
saute 2 minutes.
5) Add chicken, salt, basil, and pepper;
saute 5 minutes, or until chicken is
done.
6) Add chopped tomato, and saute an
additional 2 minutes.
7) Serve chicken herb sauce over pasta.
8) Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
