Snack Attack: Will It Waffle?

It is a truth universally acknowledged that waffles are awesome. But they’re even better with goodies like Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle by Sheila G’s or a Kutoa Peanut Butter and Jelly Bar thrown in. Check out all the snacks from our June tasting box that we waffled (with some interesting results), and then let us know what foods you’d waffle at home!

Hmm, let’s see. For a sweet, how about dulce de leche? You could add finely ground tea and spices to make a Chai waffle. Or coffee and make a latte waffle. On the savory end, some fresh thyme and aged gouda would be tasty. You could have chicken and waffles in a single item, you could really do it up right and add some jerk seasoning, serve it with plantains. Add turkey to the craisin waffle, season it like stuffing, and serve with gravy. Or maybe just a good brie on top of a craisin waffle. Sweetened ricotta, make a canola waffle. And the ultimate: espresso powder, mascarpone, and a touch of brandy/kahlua for a tiramisu waffle.

I want to try to waffle brownie mix and then have some vanilla ice cream on top! I use my waffle iron all the time to only make waffle and cinnamon rolls but the possibilities really are endless! This will give me some great ideas! Thanks everyone! Totally digging the Mac and Cheese idea!

I would make a healthier version of Elvis Presley’s favorite food ,a peanut butter and banana sandwich, only waffle style . I would make a waffle using vegan( or g- free for a friend)waffle mix, all natural peanut butter, and sliced banana(for an extra crunchy I would use banana chips) and then top it with a dash of cinnamon, so yummy…

samosa waffle. Hmmm, you can’t make a sushi waffle, but maybe a sushi rice waffle you can top with the fish, and (drum roll) you can mix wasabi into your waffle batter - oh, I like where this thread is going. Soba waffle, any body?
