About:

this was so weirdl Wanted to make changes to the website but it is not working, I will do this and go bacjk to the website

We had such a great time in SeaGrove Beach that we decided to stay until Tuesday. Clark said it was fine with him so we stayed. We have such a wonderful time just being alone and enjoying each other. Talked with Car on Sat and she said why don't we just turn the phone off and stay home instead of driving to SeaGrove. I told Jimmy and he said no, we have to go to the beach because if we stayed home we would start doing things that "needed to be done" instead of just enjoying each other, I agree so we will continue driving to the beach. We were a little later starting out Friday because Jimmy had gotten himself tired working out at The Strip and lay down for a while when he got home and then took a shower. I had packed my stuff before leaving for work and taken it downstairs by the front door, also had the clean sheets there and all the snacks we were taking that didn't have to be refrigerated. All I had to do when I got home was put the milk, etc, in the ice chest. I called Jimmy 3 times, thinking he had dozed off, but he was in the shower. I went ahead and loaded the Jeep except for his bag which he hadn't brought down yet. He came down in a little while and we put his bag in the Jeep and left. Stopped in Samson at Crews BarBQ and Grill as usual, Left there right at 8:00pm and got to the little house on Grove St about 9:15. I went upstairs and unlocked the door and threw the flashlight down to Jimmy. He turned on the water and water heater then came upstairs to go to the bathroom. Told me not to unload, but I told him I am not such a weakass now so could at least get started on it. But, FIRST, I swept off the porch and steps because they were covered with leaves and we were already tracking in. Then I unloaded everything and put it on the steps, as we usually do. Then I came up stairs and brought in the cooler and put stuff in the fridge, then put my wine in to chill and made some tea. By the time I was ready to start hauling stuff upstair, Jimmy was there to help me so it didn't take long at all. I unpacked my stuff and Jimmy sat down to rest and watch some STRANGE TV shows. I fixed his pills for Sat. and got him a snack and my iced tea, and started reading the newspapers I had been collecting for a while. I had about 2/3 of them read before we got ready for bed, and finished the rest Sat. night. We stayed in bed until about 4:15, then got up and ready for Mass at St. Rita's at 5:30. Then we went to supper at the SeaGrove Village Market Cafe. Neither of us had eaten anything yet but I wasn't really hungry so finally settled for the House Salad which was just perfect for me. Jimmy said that wasn't enough (he knows how much I am hungry for more than I do apparently so he told the waitress to bring me an order of fries, too. I told him I hope he was hungry because I was not. He got the wonderful Market Cafe cheeseburger and fries, ate it all and about half of the fries he had ordered for me. The salad was perfect, filled me up and was delicious. Thank goodness they didn't use iceberg lettuce, I have gotten to where I don't care for it at all. We got home and I took a shower while Jimmy watched TV. He had also brought a couple of books to read. After I finished the rest of the newspapers, I started rereading The Help and came within 50 pages of finishing it again before the weekend was over. We got up late on Sunday and went over to Destin because Jimmy wanted to go to the Bass Pro Shop and get another inflatable mattress because we enjoy the one we got last winter down there so much out at the Strip and Jimmy wanted a backup in case anything happened to the first one. After we got home, he opened it and found out it inflates differently from out other one, the first one has an electric pump that works with 4 D Batteries and that is what he wanted again. We ate supper in SanDestin at McAllister's Deli, hadn't had a muffaletta in a long time so I got a quarter muffaletta and a cup of their delicious country potato soup and Jimmy got the ham and turkey melt and a cup of chili. We both really enjoyed what we got. After we got back to the little house, I started shaking the rugs and getting ready to clean, then realized I really wasn't ready to go back home, so I asked Jimmy what he thought about staying until Tues, and he thought that was a great idea so I called Clark and he said it was fine. We stayed in bed until about 5:00pm on Monday, then Jimmy wanted to go back to Bass Pro Shop and exchange the mattress. They told him they don't stock the one with batteries in the store anymore but he could order it online. He asked me what I wanted to do for supper and I said go to Publix and pick up something and cook, but he wanted to go to Olive Garden so we did. After we got back to the house, I started cleaning again then washed the towels and our clothes with them, then washed the living room rug that I had been wanting to wash for a long time, but was afraid it would tear up. Jimmy siad go ahead and wash it and we will replace it if it tears up. I had washed the kitchen rug a while back and it shrank to about half the length it used to be. This one washed great though and looks so much better. We got to bed a little earlier Mon. night and got up about 10:00am. Cleaned the kitchen and glass top tables after a light breakfast and then cleaned the bathrooms, loaded up and left. We got home right before 1:00pm so I wasn't VERY late for work. Then I worked late so it was fine.
This morning, we got up at 6:30 and went to the courthouse in Dothan to be there for Jon Williams's hearing this morning. Marla had asked us to come to their house last Thurs and told us about all their troubles and said they would really appreciate it if we were there for them. We were shocked, they revoked his bond and said he has to serve the sentence. It is so unfair. Jimmy is going to try to sell the Musketeer for Marla, he went and told Mickey and Dave about it this afternoon. I sure wish we could buy it back, but Jimmy can't be PIC on it as long as he takes his diabetes med. That is so stupid, he is fine as long as he takes his meds. We are just sick about Jon, Marla plans to take the kids to GA and live with her sister for the time being. She is going to try to get back on active duty herself. I will keep them all in my prayers, it is so sad.

we are leaving Friday for a wonderful weekend at SeaGrove Beach. Can't wait to get there, it is so special and restful I wonder if we will actually go to the beach this time. We haven't been there yet, but maybe this time. Full moon is tomorrow night so that will be a good time to go down there after we get unloaded, I am so looking forward to a wonderful weekend with my darling Jimmy.

My darling is feeling better today. He went out to Dave's hangar at the airport this morning and they loaded some stuff Dave is giving him on his trailer, then he called me to meet him at our hangar at The Strip and help him unload. Then we went back to the airport to load up again and took it back to The Strip, but just parked the trailer in the hangar as it was raining, and this stuff is pretty heavy. I told him we need to invite Stephen over for a beer and get him to help us unload. He didn't overdo it this afternoon and came home before I left work, so he is okay. I heated him up some leftover country fried steak and rice and green beans from Sunday and he said it was good. We went to Victor's class on the Mass again and planned to go to see Friends with Benefits after, but I was confused. It was LAST week that there was an 8:30 show after Winnie the Pooh at 7:00. Tonight they were at 7:10 and 9:20, so we were in between. We went to WalMart and I shopped while Jimmy gassed up my Jeep, then we came home. It was okay to get home early. Tomorrow night I will give him meatloaf, Saltzkartoffel and baked beans left from Monday and I put the leftover corn muffins in the freezer so we can have a muffin, too. Then we have tickets to see The Depot at the new Enterprise HS Performing Arts Center at 7:00pm. We are really looking forward to that. Jimmy went up to bed a little while ago, I still have a load of clothes in the washer and one in the dryer. this is just our laundry, still have to wash sheets and towels from the boys being here, but that can wait until the weekend.
I have been thinking today how lovely it would be to go to SeaGrove Beach next weekend. Have to talk with Jimmy about that when I go up to bed and to Clark tomorrow if Jimmy wants to go. We have so much to do here, but those weekends in the little house at the beach are so lovely, they bring us peace and quiet and recharge our batteries so we can hit the ground running again when we come home. I thank God all the time for bringing me a wonderful husband like Jimmy, he fulfills me and I do him. We are both blessed to be married to our very best friends and still having a great life together after over 49 years. We have to decide what to do to celebrate our 50th on June 2 next year. we both lean toward something at The Strip, but we might have to take the dance floor out there if the church hasn't bought it from Jimmy by then. We have lots of planning to do, but we have over 10 months left

Jimmy was hurting worse again this morning, and couldn't figure out why since he said he didn't do anything yesterday to make it worse and yesterday he was feeling better. I asked if he ever went down to the playroom to get in his recliner yesterday and he didn't. I told him that would have been what made him feel better yesterday because he went down and got in the recliner on Tues. when I went to work and only came up to eat supper and went back to the recliner until he went up to bed. He also didn't get in it today, but he did stay in bed all day until after 3:00pm when he got up and took his shower. He thought he had heard John and friends downstairs about 3:30, but we aren't sure, didn't ask them. They were gone when I went to work and were still gone when I got home a little before 6:00pm. I took Duke out to pee and then we went to Larry's for supper. Called John and they were changing tires on the Lincoln and said they would join us when they finished. We ate without them and called them and they were almost there so we waited. Jimmy told our waiter to total up the checks and give to him as soon as they ordered and then we left to go to see Zookeeper, which I enjoyed more than I had expected. The Lincoln haad sputtered out on the bypass and they left it there and went back after supper. Jimmy gave them a can of STP we had in the Jeep and they got it to the BP station on Geneva Hwy and bypass, filled it up with 93 octane and the STP and it was fine then. They washed it and vacuumed it out. John repossessed it from his next door neighbor who was buying it, but hadn't made a payment in years. It had been parked for over 2 years because it had transmission problems. John put fluid in and it worked okay, but was shooting fluid out through a hole. He had it repaired and picked it up today, got a tag for it, changed the tires and it was running good when they left here. I have been praying they don't have any trouble with it on the trip. They were going to Chucky's in Huntsville and sleep there a while and continue on to Flint tomorrow. I think Twiggy plans to buy it. He wanted to buy the van from Jimmy, but it has some major problems after sitting up for about 6 years. His wife wanted to get the Lincoln so she should be very happy. Of course, it will be more expensive. Jimmy was going to sell the van for $500. Twiggy wanted to get it and convert it to a camper. I am praying now for them to have a safe trip and no problems on the way back to MI. It was nice to see Anthony and spend time with him again. We missed him when we were in Flint because we slept in and he had left when we got up. Jimmy saw him the night before when he and John and Angela got back from the IMAX, but I just talked to him on the phone when I left a wakeup call. I had seen Twiggy when he came in and got the WIFI to work on my laptop, but I didn't know that was who he was. He is a very nice guy and he and John and Anthony all gave Jimmy some much needed help, and I really appreciate them for doing that. Jimmy and I have a problem that we both think we can still do everything we have ever been able to do, and maybe we can if we try hard enough, but it takes a lot longer now and lots of time it hurts. Younger stronger guys are such a good help. Thank you so much for your help. Jimmy is getting up and going to help Dave Quimby empty his hangar tomorrow, as he sold his plane. Dave has had terrible problems with his back for the past few months but is feeling better now, but still not cleared by his doctor to go back to work. Jimmy is usually pretty good except for the chronic back problems, but he is pretty sure he broke 2 ribs when he fell on Monday and he heard them crack and felt them move this morning when he tried to roll on his left side. He has to keep changing positions all night and all day he stays in bed because nothing is comfortable for his back for long. Now he can't roll on his left side and he really sleeps best that way. He likes me to cuddle up to his back to keep it warm and have my belly pressed into the small of his back and my legs up under his like he is sitting in my lap, or else for me to roll on my right side and press my butt into the small of his back. Right now, he can't do either. I sure hope his pain will be better when he gets up in the morning and he won't do anything to aggravate his pain. I worry about him so much. Love him sooooo much.

Jimmy is feeling a little better today. He was able to get out of bed by himself to go to the bathroom so I brought him chocolate milk and his morning pills and painted him with Biofreeze a few times. Got up and left him at 12:25 and just got ready and went to work. Wasn't hungry at all. He was to call me when he got up and let me know he was okay but he hadn't called by 3:00pm so I called him and he had just gotten up and was in the bathroom. He went downstairs and only Duke, our grandpuppy was there. I guess he decided he could drive and went to the Strip. Well, he went to the Court House and got a tag for the wheelchair van since Twiggy wanted to buy it,. They took it to the Strip, but it has problems since it has been settingup unused for about 6 years. They put it in the bushes by my old Crown Vic and I told them that Brian might take a look at it the next time he comes down here with Caity. He is a good mechanic and might have it humming along. I hope he can because Twiggy really wants it. He can make a camper from it. The boys are all gone to bed, I was waiting to give Jimmy a shower because he told me this morning he wanted me to help him take a shower tonight. I have asked him several times is he is ready but he is watching his shows he DVRd and wasn't ready yet. The last time I asked he told me he is going to wait until tomorrow. I told him I wished he had decided that 5 hours ago because I was so chilled when we got home from Old Mexico and I went upstairs to use the bathroom because he headed right to the Blue Room. I wanted to get in the shower and warm up so much, but remembered I needed to get in with him to bathe him, now he wants to wait. I did warm up eventually, but it would have been so much faster it I had gotten right in the shower,

Jimmy and the "boys" got up early and went out to the Strip to fly this morning. I was still tired from last night's cooking and cleaning up, so stayed in bed for another couple of hours and had some VERY strange dreams. I got up at 10:00am and was in the bathroom getting ready to go downstairs and Jimmy came in the bedroom door and called me to come quick and help him. I came out and asked what he needed and he wanted me to take his clothes off and help him into bed. He had picked up scraps of carpet that Stephen's dog Bolt had dragged out of the hangar and tore up all over the yard and was taking them to put in the trashcan, but stumbled on the big step at that side of the hangar and fell before he realized what was happening, and landed hard on his left arm and knee. He said he was just trying to keep from hitting his head when he realized he was falling. Strangely, his arm and elbow were okay but they did some damage to his left abdominal area on impact. He actually let me paint him with Biofreeze and again in about half an hour. we wrapped the blankets around him and he wanted it turned on. After a little while he wanted me to go downstairs and get him some chocolate milk and his 800mg Motrin and his Methocarbomal. I came back to bed with him and helped him move around and propped him on pillows, etc. He let me paint him again with Biofreeze. I called Clark and told him I had to stay home with Jimmy as we didn't know if he could get out of bed without help (he couldn't) or wipe his butt or do anything by himself. Finally about 2:30 he had to get up and go to the bathroom and he decided to go downstairs to the playroom and get in his recliner. He isn't able to push back and recline, but he is still more comfortable in it. He came upstairs and ate supper and went back down to it. After he was safely setting in his recliner this afternoon, I went to Food world to get stuff for supper, cooked those boys another big supper, made 2 meatloaves, saltzkartofel, 2 skillets of okra, baked beans, 24 cornbread muffins and made John another Striped Delight. Jimmy and Twiggy opted for peach cobbler, but John, Anthony and I had striped delight In fact, John had 2 helpings and I expect him to have another one when they get home. They are out at the Strip pressure washing the old wheelchair van. Twiggy wants to buy it and John's tenants are glad to get it out f the yard. They are leaving tomorrow to head back to Flint. We have enjoyed having them here and they have helped Jimmy a lot. He felt bad about not taking them flying after he got hurt. He said he tried to prop it off one time and couldn't even go through the first pull because it hurt so bad. Twiggy said that was okay, that means they will have to come back. Jimmy said he lay on the hangar floor for 5 to 10 min because he was hurting so bad, Anthony and Twiggy were standing over him wanting to help, but he told them to just let him lie there. Finally, he reached for Anthony's hand and he helped him sit up, then he was able to get up. He drove home but it was very painful. I didn't finish cleaning up the kitchen and putting the food away until 10:15, my feet are so swollen and achy, I know I am going to pay tomorrow. I hope Jimmy will be feeling better. He has a much lower threshold of pain than I do, so I can't judge how really bad it is.

Wow! WE have a some kinda week! Both Jimmy and I veer between feeling pretty good and tryin to accomplish a lot and wearing ourselves out on those good days and really paying for it the next day. Last Sunday we slept in late as we had gone to Mass Sat night and had a good time at supper at Ruby's with Car and Mel and Sharon, Len and Freddie. We slept in Sunday and got up around 2:00pm and got busy. Jimmy went to get the flat bed and a hand truck as they had all ended up at other places than at home. While he was doing that, I emptied that dead fridge in the garage. We loaded it on the flatbed and took it to the recycling place, then went to The Strip and I cleaned the dead ants out of the new fridge in the LoveNest while Jimmy started unloading the fridge under the stairs to the loft. Then I helped him carry lots of stuff that I could load in my arms and finally filled my bucket with the last of it. This fridge is smaller than the one under the stairs so we had to put several bottles and 1 box of wine in the cabinet under the sink. After we finished that, we loaded the fridge under the stairs on the flatbed and took it to the house, unloaded it and now we have a spare fridge at home. THANK YOU! I have missed that so much. We have the small one downstairs in the game room but it doesn't hold much. In fact, it is so narrow that I can't put a lot of things in it, like a 13 x 9 pan. After that, I cooked a big supper for Jimmy for a change, and he said he really enjoyed it. I made 2 large peach cobblers, one for us and one for Clark and Charlie, as they keep us supplied with Chilton Cty peaches all summer. I made 8 little meatloaves that are just the right size for Jimmy to have one for supper, served 1 and froze 7. Now I have a good start for 7 more meals, maybe I can cook at home more. After we ate and I had the kitchen cleaned up, I made a cake for a funeral luncheon at St. John for Monday, Barbara Neuding's funeral. I was totally exhausted and my ankles were so swollen and aching, so I took a shower and went to bed pretty soon after cleaning up fromt he cake baking. Monday morning when the alarm went off, my ankles were still swollen even though I had them on a pillow all night. I asked Jimmy if he would take my cake to the church hall and let me stay in bed. Aftechecking out my ankles he told me to call Clark and tell him I had to stay in bed all day and wouldn't be to work. I said it is the 18th and I have to go do sales tax, but I will call Clark and tell him I will be late. Jimmy came back and came back to bed with me and we didnt get up until 3:45. I got to work about 4:30 and stayed until almost 8:00pm, then had to go to WalMart, Jimmy was working at The Strip, so he called me and we met at Wendy's for a quick burger about 8:45pm. Got to bed and feet on the pillow again and felt much better on Tues. After work, came home and cooked supper, then got on the laptop for a little while, then about 7:30 I told Jimmy if he would crank up my mower, I would get going on cutting down the weeks. He said it is too late and I said I could get a lot done before dark. And, I did get the upper part of the yard done and started on the rest, but it got dark enough that I wasn't sure if I was cutting it all or not so I quit for the night and told him I would get up in the morning when he was planning to get up early and finish before I went to work. Then I did 3 loads of laundry before going to bed. Do we see a pattern here??? If I feel good, I just can't quit doing stuff. Well, Jimmy didn't get up early as he had planned on Wed. so we got up about 11:30 and I got him to crank up the mower for me so I could finish the yard, made me feel much better to have accomplished that, got a quick shower and off to work. We had our date night, dinner and a movie, and got home and can't remember if we accomplished any other missions that night, but don't think we did. Fortunately, we got to stay in bed until noon or after on Thurs, then I had to get to work and do payroll. Worked late and then went home and fixed us sandwiches and we went to Victor's first class on the Mass. He is wonderful, what a great homilist he will be when he is ordained. I asked Cindy to put in a request to the Archdiocese for him to be our pastor when that day comes. We stopped at Food World on the way home and I bought the ground chuck for the lasagna for Sat. night, then we went home and put it in the fridge and I went back to WalMart to get the rest of the stuff I needed to make 3 pans of lasagna and 1 Striped Delight, one of John's all time favorite desserts. I was going to start on the lasagna when I got home, but WalMart is relaying AGAIN and it was so frustrating to find everything I needed and took so long, that I just didn't feel up to cooking when I got home. John and his friends were arriving sometime that night, I finished making up the 4 beds with fresh sheets and finally got to bed long after midnight. We slept in on Friday morning, then got up for Jimmy to take John, Anthony and Twiggy to breakfast, then they were helping him at The Strip in the afternoon. I went to work, then Jimmy called me to see if I wanted to meet them at Santa Fe for supper. That was great with me because I didn't have a plan for supper and that would give me time to get busy on the lasagna when we got home. John surprised us by having Jamie and Cesar join us for supper, it was Jaimie's 45th birthday, John had celebrated his 2 weeks ago. We had a nice supper with them, then got home. Jimmy was worn out from all he had done with the "boys" in the afternoon, mainly taking down the windsock to repaint the metal part and put on the new one we had ordered. Apparently there were some problems with the bobcat, the frame got bent, the windsock and part of the tower is down. We will have plenty of time to fix it and get it back up. We aren't setting deadlines anymore. I stayed up until about 2:00am, making 3 pans of lasagna and 1 striped delight. everything takes me longer than it used to. When I got into bed, I was soooo glad to get my po old feet up on the pillow, we stayed in bed a lot longer than we should have with all we needed to get done, but we needed the rest, too. Jimmy had really hurt his left arm, both directions around the elbow and his muscle. I had asked him to let me paint it with Biofreeze friday night, but he wouldn't. It was still hurting him Sat morning and he finally let me paint it and he wrapped the blanket around it and, lo and behold, it helped!!! I keep telling him it doesn't hurt to paint the Biofreeze on, it may not help, but if it does, you are feeling better. He just won't listen. I think he really aggravated the muscles on Thurs when he was out at the pecan tree with the rolling stairs and the chainsaw, and he was trimming branches off, but he had to keep going up and down the stairs when he had to move them, then cranking the chainsaw over and over and leaning out, holding all that weight and cutting the branches. He wasn't hurting there thurs. night, but if we had painted it then just because he had strained those muscles, he might have avoided all that pain on Friday and Sat. When we finally got up on Sat, we had to hit the ground running. I went to the bread store to get hot dog buns and barbecue bread and Jimmy went to Lowe's to get 20 ft wasp spray because they had discovered several wasp nests in the hangar on Fri. He killed them and I went on to The Strip and got things set up for Sat. night. We didn't have as big a party as usual, mostly John's friends who are still here in Enterprise and our dear Stephanie who comes down from Pinson to join us and friends of ours who know John. I hustled around getting the tables cleaned and the Love Nest cleaned up, Jimmy had been tracking a lot of trash in and some dead bugs, too. Jimmy was blowing out the hangar, lots of bugs and leaves, etc. accumulate. I set up the chairs and Jimmy came and saw what I was doing and helped me with that, I got them all cleaned and started on the rockers, etc, and John and crew finally arrived and put up the tables for us and I got the tablecloths on them and had to go home to get ready for Mass. I asked John and friends to wash down the outside chairs and set them up for the bonfire. Jimmy said John came and got the scrubbrushe and gave them a good cleaning. I wish I could devise a covering for them to keep them clean between parties. I thought of large garbage bags over stacks of the chairs, but that only works on the small chairs. I have to think of something. Anyway, we had a really good time last night, wish more could have joined us. John's friends Jamie and Cesar, Stephanie, Anthony and Twiggy were there from the beginning, Zero and his wife and Brent and Gracie arrived later, but we enjoyed them, too. Pat and Greg, Betty and Will and Dave Quimby were there and Renate and her daughter, Tina and her baby Sienna, were there for a little while, Margaret and her friend came and Clark and Charlie were there for supper. Stephen and the kids were there, Pattie was having a girl's night out and that is always a good thing, too. Poor little Melody was going strong and suddenly crashed, so Stephen had to take her in to bed. Becca Cotten and her family were there and Casey and Daisy kept Carson and Reese busy playing with them while Stephen was putting MJ to bed. I am sorry that I was so exhausted that I wasn't more sociable with everyone. I enjoyed sitting at the table talking with Pat and Greg, Betty and Will and Dave, while other people were cleaning up the tables, putting the condiments back in the fridge, etc. I think Stephen was busy doing this.. I thank you all. Jimmy said he wanted John and his friends to put the tables away and I asked him if we could please wait until today to do that because I didn't want to clean everything up that had to be done before the tables were put away and he said okay, so I got to go down to the fire pit and enjpy the bonfire for a couple of hours and visit with Stephanie and John's friends. When we finally put the fire out about 2:00am and loaded up the dishes that needed to be saved or washed, etc and went home, I had a chance to rest and relax and was feeling better than I should have. Jimmy drove me home in the Jeep, wish I had known he was going to do that and I would have indulged in some wine by the fire. I thought I had to drive home. I got the food put away and all the dishes washed before I went to bed. We stayed in bed until about 2:20 today. Jimmy had told the boys last night that they could shoot bullets at targets at the range and that they would go flying. They should have flown first, as quartering winds came up and prevented them from taking off, but they did shoot a lot of bullets. They had a good time. I cleaned off the tables and put away the tablecloths, then our granddog, Duke, and I relaxed in the Love Nest and I drank a bottle of water, while they were shooting bullets and poor little Duke was trembling in my lap. Gave me a chance to bond with our granddog. Tonight I came home and cooked country fried steak, rice, beans, biscuits and gravy and peach cobbler. also had a bowl of fresh cherries, strawberries and blue berries. We ate our fill and have steak and gravy and biscuits and fruit for breakfast, in addition to some doughnuts I bought for them today at WalMart. The "boys" went to see capt. America and left me to babysit Duke. he got out one time when I was putting leftovers in the garage fridge but he came back when I called him. He is such a cutie. I think he likes his grandma, too.l We had fun.

No full moon tonight so no full moon bonfire. Maybe tomorrow night will work. we will have to use the "full moon" that Jimmy taped on the wall over our bed one night last year when the weather didn't cooperate with us. I hope it will be beautiful tomorrow night and we can celebrate at The Strip. We have had enough rain that we should be able to have a bonfire now. If the restrictions haven't been lifted, we can still use our little NRA firepit. I am not complaining about the rain, we still need it badly to overcome the drought conditons, but we do need a beautiful night. Hopefully, John will be here next weekend to celebrate his birthday late, and Jaimie said she is coming and hopefully bringing the girls, too. Got to get busy and wash the sheets from last weekend, got the towels done but the sheets are still on the beds. We washed our's but still have 3 beds to go. Maybe I can finish before the weekend is over. Jimmy just went up to bed, got to finish up and join him.

I guess I ran out of space but wasn't through. We had breakfast with John, took a picture of him outside his office, will post it when I get the pictures ready. I messed most of them up because I moved too fast and blurred them. I was surprised to see that Jimmy did, too, on pix he took of Maggie and Britt in Birmingham. Anyway, back to Flint township. Angie had the police out there because a guy had used a stolen cart to pay for his Jacuzzi room the night before, the people who owned the card knew Angie and called her and she called the police. The guy skipped right before they got there, but he came back later and they reported him and had him arrested. He went back to the room he had paid for with the stolen card and they opened the door with their master key and he was hauled off to jail
We hit the road to Bowling Green, KY and encountered even worse traffic shutdowns than in WI on Friday. Going into Louisville, KY, we had a stop of over an hour, found out a truck had blocked the road with his trailor when we finally go to the Louisville area.
After we passed through there, we went okay for a while, then encountered slowdowns due to road maintenance. In all, we had over 2 hours slowdowns in Kentucky. When we finally got to the hotel in bowling Green, we were so tired, but Jimmy wanted to go to an Olive Garden we had passed on the way to the motel. We both thought we were hungry enough to eat a big supper, especially since it was after 8:00pm by then, but we couldn't finish it all, either of us. We had a very nice waitress who told us interesting stories of how she had just moved there a couple of months ago from Nevada. Her daughter and grandchildren moved with her and they came to help her parents who are elderly. She just looked too young to us to have grandchildren, but who knows how young she started. She had a heart attack the day they left NV, then was released from the hospital and she had 3 or 4 more heart attacks the next day. That delayed their trip further, but she recovered and got to KY and has been okay every since. But, waitressing is hard work, I hope she will continue to be okay as she was a friendly, lovely lady. We got back to the Hilton Garden Inn and had a good night's sleep, got up early in the morning to hit the road, didn't eat as we weren't hungry and headed for Florence. We were supposed to meet the Florence Hensons at the Ryan's at 11:00am so that Nadine could meet with us before her doctor's appt. We got there early, about 10:50 and went inside as we both needed to potty. We paid, told the cashier we were meeting family and needed several tables. she said we could set them up. We did and waited and waited and waited. I finally said I would call Dean and see what the story is. I thought the number I had for her was her home phone, but thankfully, it was her cell. I asked her if they are coming and she said they are in the parking lot. I told her we are inside, and they came in. Then soon, Nadine and Judy (Dale's wife) came in, and Lonnie and Nikki came and Lynn and his daughter, Misty, and Dakota came. Then Kristy came on her lunch hour and she is Dakota's mom. We had a very good time, it is the first time we have been together in years that wasn't a funeral. I hope we can have happy meetings more often. We had a great time, and took a lot of pix, but I am a terrible photographer, Jimmy is going to help me with my pix, but too late for the wedding, etc, We went on to birmingham and met Jimmy II, Maggie and Brittany and Meghan for supper at Jim and Nick's in Homewood. It was good and great to see them. Sorry we couyldn't see Julie, Miranda and Katie. Maybe next time we can see everyone. We got home about 8:
We had a wonderful trip. The wedding on Sat. was beautiful and Mandy was a gorgeous bride. The reception was a ball, we had so much fun. They had a Mexican buffet and even a nacho cheese fountain. Sure am gla I didn't have to clean that!!! They asked all the married couples to get on the floor with Mandy and Dustin and aliminated from recently married on through the years. Barb's sister and her husband had been married 46 years but Jimmy and I won with 49 years and 1 month, as we married June 2 and Mandy and Dustin July 2. We won one of the bridemaid's bouquets. Kept it in water for the rest of the trip, but the white flowers in it that looked similar to hydrangea's were turning brown by Wed. night. Yesterday, I cut off the flowers that are still pretty and have them in a vase and threw the rest of them away. We got up early on Sun, and went to Mass at 7:45 at a beautiful old church, St. Mary of the immaculate Conception. A lady in the parking lot after Mass commented that we came a long way to go to Mass and Jimmy told her we heard it was a really great church. They had a corner of the parking lot with a gazebo and beautiful flowers inside a wrought iron fence. After Mass, we ate breakfast at the motel then loaded up and headed to Chicago to visit Jim and Gail. Took us about 4 hours to get there, Jim gave great directions, plus we had TomTom and it agreed with Jim, he was waiting outside to let us in the parking garage, then we went to their flat on the 20th floor. What a fantastic view! 2 walls are all windows and a balcony, right on S. Michigan Ave. We could see over across the park to Lake Michigan. Gail and Jill and 3 grandkids were at the beach when we got there, so we visited with Jim until they came in. They got cleaned up and we dropped them off for a concert at the other end of the park, about 11 blocks down by the pier, then we went to Krolls for supper, delicious Greek salad for me, Jimmy had a really good burger and Jim had grilled tuna steak. We went back to the highrise and sat on the balcony, drinking wine and enjoying the night. There was a blimp flying around and small airplanes pulling banners. Eventually Gail and Mia came back and we chatted and ate popcorn and Mia watched a movie until bedtime. The next morning, Jim cooked a great breakfast which we greatly enjoyed, then we hit the road to Flint to see John. Traffic was light since it was July 4 so we had a pretty quick trip up there. TomTom told us to turn the wrong way as it couldn't accept the G before John's address. The places in Flint Township have a G in front of them to differentiate between them and Flint, which is now the highest crime rate city in the country. Detroit used to be #1 but they are now #2. I am glad John has the G in his address. I told Jimmy that John had told us to turn left at the exit but TomTom said right, so we needed to turn around and go the way John said. We didn't see the HomeTown Inn when we passed it but I did see the RedRoof Inn which was next door. John told us to turn around and we found it that time. It is very nice, John got us a jacuzzi suite and we sure did enjoy the jacuzzi. First, we got out stuff unloaded, the drinks in the fridge, dumped the melted ice from the cooler, brought our flowers into the a/c, then went to meet Uncle Floyd and Aunt Viotta and their son, Robert and his wife, Shirley and their granddaughter for an early supper, as we had eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a while earlier at a rest area. I had asked Jimmy if we could bring a loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly, some Ritz crackers and some of his Little Debbie snack cakes so we could make lunch along the way. He agreed and it saved us both time and money so it was a win/win deal. I was NOT ready to eat dinner yet, but did get a salad and we had the cornbread muffins. They wanted to eat at Cracker Barrel, so we did. I don't like anything except their corn muffins, but Jimmy likes the roast beef dinner and he had that. It was so good to see them all again, Angie came with us, too, and we enjoyed r company. We hadn't seen Robert and his family for many years, so that was a treat. We went to Uncle Floyd and Aunt Viotta's home in Grand Blanc after, and had a nice visit with them. Uncle Floyd made Jimmy a CD of pictures of the family from many years ago, I am looking forward to watching it with him, hopefully he can identify who the people are. John wanted us to go with him to the IMAX to see Transformers 3, Jimmy was eager to go and I begged off so I could catch up on email and read some of the newspapers I had brought with us to catch up on local news. They were so late getting back that I was afraid Jimmy would want to go right to bed and skip the Jacuzzi so I had it filled up with hot water and waiting for him when he got back. John and Michael came to see us before we had a chance to get in it, so it was good to see Michael again, he is working at a Weed Store where they sell medical marijuana. I didn't even know they had such things but did see billboards about it. I thought you had to have a prescription and got it at the pharmacy. He says you have to have a prescription, but you can get it at the Weed Store. We played in the Jacuzzi after they left and went to bed for a good night's sleep. We asked Anthony to leave us a wakeup call for 8:00am. but Jimmy didn't want to get up, so we slept a while longer. It didn't matter when we left as we were going to Bowling Green, KY and didnt have a deadline to be there. The breakfast at the HomeTown Inn ended at 9:00am and we didn't make it, but we went to the restaurant that is built in the outparcel from the Inn, I can't remember the name, but they are all over the place up north. I had seasonal fruit and biscuits and they were good. I forget what Jimmy had, eggs and something, but he said the biscuits were too hard, I know he had eggs and other stuff, probably hash browns.

We left early Thurs. morning and drove the first leg of our trip to Mandy and Dustin's wedding. Got to Effingham, IL about 5:30pm, which made it an 11 hour trip that day. We were tired so had supper, took a shower and Jimmy was in bed by 7:30, but I was tired but not sleepy yet so did some work on laptop, then read until I got sleepy. I was asleep by 10:30, which is the earliest I have been in ages. But, woke up at 3:45 and couldn't get back to sleep. Jimmy was still sleepy when the alarm went off at 6:15 and asked me to reset it for 7:00, but then he couldn't go back to sleep so we got up and left by 6:45, just a little later than planned. We didn't get here to Tomah until about 3:30 because delays on the road were so bad. You would have thought there was a bad wreck because all traffic would come to a halt, then we would inch along, one lane at a time, but never could figure out what the problem was. It is beautiful here, lots of pretty farmland, then we got to the Mississippi River when we went to LaCrosse tonight for the rehearsal supper. So great to see Whiz, Barb, Mandy and Keith, it has been way too long. We love Dustin, so glad he and Mandy found each other, and finally got to meet Jakie, Keith's little boy, who just celebrated his 3rd birthday. He is the ringbearer at the wedding tomorrow. What a cutie pie he is! and I LOVE his beautiful red hair. It is still long, but Barbie said it is being cut tomorrow. I bet Keith will take pix and post. Went to the Bodega after the dinner for a little while, but we were tired and it was SOOOO loud, so we had one drink and left. Mandy talked me into trying a cherry beer and it was good, can't remember what she called it.

We are supposed to meet Whiz for breakfast in the morning, then the wedding is at 3:00pm. We are leaving Sunday after Mass and breakfast to go to Chicago to see Jim and Gail Lomonaco, then will go to Flint to see John and Uncle Floyd and Aunt Viotta on Monday. Tues. we head for home, will spend the night in Bowling Green, KY, then will stop in Florence to have lunch with some of the Hensons who live there now. Nadine has been there for a while, and Lonnie and Gene have moved back now and I have been in touch with Dean on FB, so hope to see all of them and Leon. Then it will be back home for us. Hope we don't get in too late Wed night because I have to be at work on Thurs. Sure a lot of things have piled up, plus I have to do payroll on Thurs. This is the longest Jimmy and I have ever gotten away, it is great to see family that we haven't seen for a long time, but the very best part is that Jimmy and I are together all day and night every day for a week, and that is a special treat. Lots of quality time alone- we LOVE it!!! I hope Mandy and Dustin will have a long and happy life together, filled with love, like we do. Can't ask for a better blessing than that.

We didn't go to the beach this weekend, but we had a fantastic time together anyway. Friday night, we had tickets to see the Mighty Tams and The Legends at the Daleville VFW. I had won them on WOOF on Stefano's Quizzo a couple of weeks ago. The other wonderful thing is that we finally had a good long soaking rain on Friday night, we didn't even mind getting wet going into the VFW or back to the car going home. We need rain so bad and it was wonderful. We haven't even been to The Strip this weekend, but hope the raingauge will show we had a lot of rain out there, too. Sat., I had to get up at 9:00am to go to church to pack the cookies for the troops for July 4 holiday, then I went to WalMart to do a little shopping. Jimmy called me while I was there and told me he was still in bed waiting for me. He had planned to leave right after I did, had me wake him up before I left for the Hall, but he didn't get up. I told him to stay there, I was coming home, so I got home and put the refrigerated stuff in the fridge and went back to bed with him. He is so wonderful. we got up at 3:30 to get ready to go to Mass, then after we went to Daleville to el Mariacchi to celebrate Sharon's birthday, but they were closed. The owners had been picked up by INS and returned to Mexico, but we had heard they sold it to someone else, but it was NOT open. We went to McLin's down the road, which is definitely NOT one of our favorite places with all the FRIED fish and chicken, but Jimmy did get a good steak and I just had a few sides, which I couldn't even finish. We had to wait a long time to get a table, then it took FOREVER to get our food. But, we gave Sharon her gifts to open in the meantime and that took up some of the time. Jimmy and I finished eating and left a little before 9:00pm as we had to go to La Bamba by SEALA Med center to a farewell party for Peter Nunez who is going back for his 3rd tour in the Sandbox next week. I had told Tricia we would be there, but then Car booked the party for Sharon so we went to it and then to Peter's party. It was so much fun, they had reserved the "round room" at La Bamba and had a deejay. Tricia had a young lady who is a gymnastics instructer there to teach the kids how to dance, and she did a great job with them. I wished I had been there from the beginning so I could have learned along with them. It was a really fun time, I wish we could have gotten there earlier. Tricia and Peter are such good dancers and all 5 of their kids that were there were very good, too.
We got home late and spent time on the computer(me) and watching TV(Jimmy) and I ended up in bed before he was for a change. We didn't get up until after 5:00pm today and it was so wondeful. We went to breakfast, lunch, supper at Pop's Oyster Bar and then to Lowe's to get something that Jimmy thought of that he thought would clear the blockage in our shower drain. We did it when we got home and he thinks it is clear because he ran water through it with no backup. But he told me to wait till tomorrow to shower there, I know I need to clean the shower from all the crap that backed up into it and I will do that tomorrow. I am almost ready to go back to bed and he told me a few minutes ago that he is, too. He has been watching the stuff he DVR'd.
ONE of these days, I will be able to watch all the Army Wives that he DVR'd for me, but I don't know when. He is watching all his shows all the time and I have to stay up after he goes to bed to watch Army Wives, then I doze off to sleep and have to rewatch it. It is a lose/lose situation for me.
We are getting up very early tomorrow (by our standards at least) and getting busy. There are things we need to accomplish before we leave for WI on Thurs. Called Whiz tonight and he and Barbara are in the second day of their trip and are in Indiana. They hope to get to Mandy's tomorrow. I told him we have to do it in 2 days, but at least, we can switch off driving. I hope I am able to walk on Friday when we get there. I am really looking forward to seeing all of them and enjoying the wedding and reception, then going to Chicago to see Jim and Gail and on to Flint to see John and Uncle Floyd and Aunt Viotta. We plan to stop in Florence on our way home to see all the Hensons who are there, hopefully for lunch.

We had a fantastic weekend at SeaGrove Beach. Got there about 9:30 friday night, unloaded the Jeep, turned on the water and the water heater and had hot water in just a little while I made us a pitcher of unsweet tea to supplement the Cokes, water, grapefruit juice and wine. After a nice hot shower, I started reading all the newspapers I had accumulated since we went to GA for Caity's graduation. I took a bunch of them to read in the motel room while Jimmy was watching TV and took all the others to the beach to read while Jimmy is watching TV. I finished them all off Sat. night and started on my book, which was the June book club choice and I didn't get to go to the meeting, but now I have read it and will start on next month's which arrived from half.com on Fri. We stayed in bed until 3:30 on Sat and got up and ate breakfast before going to St Rita's for Mass. Stopped at Publix to pick up a few things on the way home and I could not believe the congestion in there. the checkout line started in the fresh veggies and fruit dept in back of the front of the store and continued across the back and down the left side of the store. A manager was directing them to various registers as they got to the front of the store. I asked him if I could park my buggy and come back in a couple of hours after we had supper at the SeaGrove Village Marketplace. He said if that was all I had, I could go to Customer Service and check out in the express line. When I got there, it ran past the Deli, but I still checked out in about 15 min. and had some very entertaining young men in line behind me, chatting me up and making the time go faster. They were saying things like The Rolling Stones are performing at the WaterSound Publix on Sat. night. Be there. I do like the Rolling Stones, but I may have had to pass on enjoying them if I could get out of the store faster. I love Publix, but that was ridiculous. When I was back in produce, I heard a woman telling the manager who was directing people into the line back there, that she would come back on Sunday to buy her stuff. He told her to be there before 8:00am or it would be the same situation. He said that is how it is on Sat. and Sun. I don't ever remember it being like that before, but will try to take everything I need down there. I did get my white mountain bread and nobody has that like Publix. We had supper at the SeaGrove Village Market place, then went over to Destin after supper to the Home Depot and got 2 more shovels. Jimmy was afraid that the one he brought from home wouldn't be enough to dig down to the pipe going into the septic tank so we could put those crystals on it to keep the roots from growing into the tank. We stayed in bed on Sunday until about 4:00pm, then I got up and fixed BREAKFAST and we ate and then Jimmy went out to start looking for the entrance to the septic tank from the pipes in the house. It looked logical that it would be in a straight line from the pipes from the house so that is where Jimmy dug first, but the pipe wasn't there, but he did find the corner of the septic tank. He dug a couple of more logical places and it wasn't there, so he tried going off to the right of the tank and turning back in to it and that is how it was hooked up. So he spread the crystals and pulled the hose around there to wet it down. I went in the shower room under the stairs to turn the hose on, and he kept yelling at me to turn it on all the way, then he started yelling for me to turn it off. I told him it took me about 10 turns to turn it all the way on and it took me that many to turn it all the way off, too. We went back inside, I was sooo glad I had swept off the stairs and sidewalk going to the outdoor shower and had swept down the spider webs inside and the leaves out, otherwise, I would have NOT enjoyed being in there to do the hose.
After we finished that, we went back inside and Jimmy was watching TV and I asked him when he might want supper as we had eaten breakfast so late. He said after 8:00pm, so I went to bed for a while as I was still feeling very tired and weak. I was sleeping good and he came to check on me about 8:15 and woke me up. He told me to stay in bed but I wanted to get supper over with so got up and fixed it. After I cleared up the supper dishes, I started sweeping and mopping the floors, then took my shower and started doing the washin of towels, etc. When I finished it all, I went to bed as I was exhausted, most of all from the wonderful time we had in bed before ever getting up. A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!! I sure do love that wonderful man and all the things he does to make me happy!!! We got up on Monday and had breakfast and finished the cleaning and putting fresh sheets on the bed and got out of there a little after 10:00am. I told Jimmy that I wished I had done the state sales tax in the computer on Fiday and then we could have stayed an extra day at the beach. One of these days, we will actually go to the BEACH. In the meantime, it is so great to be there and not connected to the rest of the world.

What a totally wonderful weekend we have had. today we stayed in bed until 4:00pm, then got up and went to 5 Guys for supper. We had decided to take the Miata and I was going to drive because Jimmy was tired!!! It was overcast when we went outside and I told Jimmy I didn't think it was a good day to Miata so we took my Jeep. Sure enough, it was raining in a little while and downright flooding by the time we got to Daleville, Jimmy told me to pull over at the gas station and change places as he knows I hate to drive in the rain. It quit before we got to Dothan, even though Amy D was talking about rain all over Dothan on the radio. Had a wonderful supper at 5 Guys, and for once, I was able to almost finish my burger and did finish the wonderful fries because I hadn't eaten anything since supper last night. we decided to go over to the Mega WalMart on 231N to look for curtain rods to fit in the brackets in the Love Nest. We found some that would work, then Jimmy suggested that we just use wooden dowels, which is fine with me. We can put some stoppers on the end so they don't accidentally slip from the rods. Came back to Enterprise and went to see Super 8 at the College. It was pretty good, then we stopped for ice cream cones at Sonic on the way home. Jimmy just went up to bed and I will join him in a few minutes. After all, we've been up for almost 9 hours. We are planning to get up tomorrow and work on leveling the LoveNest better than what it is now. We were going to do that the past 2 mornings, but Jimmy didn't feel like getting up and doing it and he easily persuaded me to stay in bed with him. I was going to book club tomorrow, but will help him instead. I would much rather be with him. What a blessing to be married to your best friend and total soulmate. Can't believe we have been married for 49 years, it has flown by. We have been talking about our early days together so much lately and have beautiful memories. But every year gets better, love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. That is so true.

We had a party out at The Strip for Jaimie's birthday last Sat. night, just us and Carolyn and Mel We had a rain shower show up a little while after we got out there and Randa and Kristin were walking down the Strip toward the gate when it started raining. Jaimie jumped into my Jeep and went to pick them up, but they gave her their cell phone and did cartwheels down the Strip. I wished I could have gone out and joined their celebration, but I didn't have any dry clothes to change into. Soon I will have clothes in the closet and can go as wild as I want to, IF it should happen to rain. We had a great little celebration of Jaimie's birthday with dear friends, just sat and ate and talked and enjoyed each other's company. Randa and kristin went out and "played" from time to time and came back and joined us. I think we all had a wonderful time. I was going to get up and cook Jaimie a birthday dinner, but was too tired to get up so we slept in and then took them to Huddle House for brunch. Jaimie, Randa and Kristin left from there to go home and Jimmy and I went to The Strip to finish cleaning up from Sat night. We had just put away the food, loaded the dirty dishes and utensils to take home and wash and left on Sat. night. After we put away the table and chair and swept the floor, we sat and enjoyed for a little while, then went home and back to bed for the rest of the day until we had to get up and go to Ozark and get Kathy some supplies and leave a check to refill her account she draws money from. I couldn't figure out how she could be broke, then Jimmy asked me if they had sent me a bill for several cab trips she has made to doctors, and I told him no, so the said that is where the money went. I guess he is right. I took them a check, but she went to a doctor in Dothan yesterday, so I guess a good chunk came out of it again. We had a good week, went to Sheila and Victor's for a cookout/potluck last night and a good time was had by all. It was a lot of fun and wonderful food. Today, Jimmy and I stayed in bed, just relaxing and enjoying each other until 3:30. He got up and ate and went out to do some things he needed to get accomplished, and I got up and ready to go to Mass at 5:00pm. I didn't know if he would be back when I got home from Mass and left him a message from Arlene before Mass and one from me that I was coming to get him after and both went to voice mail. Then I called him on the landline and he answered. I told him I had left him 2 messages and that's when he realized he didn't have his cell phone. He searched around his chair, looked in the flatbed truck, we went out to Rex Walden's trailer park after supper to see if he lost it there after supper tonight. He had used the land line to call it, going all over the downstaairs (except in the addition he added to the house), went upstairs to see if he had left it in the bedroom. He finally decided he had lost it in Rex's park and someone had picked it up. He left me a Ruby's to meet the group for supper and went to A&T store. got the number to cancel his service and came on to supper with us. After we were home, I went to take my shower in the bathroom in the addition because our shower is stopped up and we are having a time unclogging it. I took a shower back there last night but didn't see his phone. He had taken a shower back there before we went to Solers, but when I took mine when we got home I didn't need to potty so just got in the shower., Tonight, I needed to go to the bathroom before getting in the shower, and there was his cellphone on the vanity back by the toilet. So I took it to him and told him to reactivate his service. When I had my shower and came back, he was effusive in his thanks for finding his phone. I said I guess you can't live without me? He was so complimentary about how he could NEVER be without me, which is just what I wanted to hear. I can't imagine life without my Jimmy. Hopefully, he can't without me either. We always say we have to die together because neither of us can survive without the other. No substitutions allowed!

Thursday will be our 49th anniversary of wedded bliss. When we went to Sheila and Victor's granddaughter's wedding on Sat, it really took both of us back 49 years, They are so young and THIN like we were. We were so innocent and had no idea all that was in store for us, but we have lived and loved through both good times and bad, and are stronger for it and more in love with each other than ever before. Jimmy is always telling me he loves me so much but not as much as he will tomorrow. I told him Elvis sang it so long ago, I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. And, it is so true. Can't wait to find out what Jimmy has come up with to celebrate this year. We will have to celebrate on Wed, as Jaimie and Randa are coming on Thurs but that is fine. He has been very inventive the past two years, but I don't think he can surpass them. That's okay, just repeating them would be great. I love you, my Darling, so very, very much.

We celebrated Jimmy's 70th birthday with a fabulous party at The Strip Sat. night. We had about 70 people there and LOTS of wonderful food. That is the great thing about potlucks, people bring their best recipes. I made 2 of Jimmy's favorite dishes, lasagna and country fried steak in a crockpot, plus his favorite cake, yellow with chocolate icing. Arlene brought her fantastic salad, Phyllis brought her wonderful Asian slaw and a Southern banana pudding. I told her I was making the cake though I would rather have made his banana pudding but I just didn't have time. Phyllis made it and she made the same basic original banana pudding that I make for Jimmy and he loves. So many people make it with cool whip or something like that, but he loves the one that Nilla Wafers makes, with a meringue. Someone also brought a big pot of green beans cooked "southern style" the way he likes them. He kept the leftovers in the fridge at the Strip and had some for supper tonight along with his TV dinner because he worked late out there cutting out the Miata and I had to go to a meeting at church. Then he went to see Fast Five while I went to my meeting. He said he enjoyed it and there will be a sequel, but I would not have liked it. I knew that so it all worked out great. Like I said, he had a great birthday party Sat night with lots of good friends to help celebrate. Lots of wonderful food and good companionship. Ryan helped Jimmy shoot the fireworks at 9:00pm, then Jimmy fired off the bonfire,. Lots of folks left after the fireworks, but Judy stayed with us after the others left and we sat and chatted until early hours in the Love Nest. We came home about 2:00am and washed up all the dishes and got ready and went to bed. We were soooo tired and had to get up and drive to Calhoun Sunday afternoon so we were there for Caity and Brian's graduation on Monday. We got there in time for supper, John and Angie were already there. We ate at a great Mexican restaurant, then went back to the Whitfields house for a while. Went to the Hampton Inn and slept in on Monday, then met John and Angie and Caity and Brian for brunch at the Huddle House. Jimmy needed to go to Tractor supply to get parts for his Miata trailer, then we went to the Outlet Mall and he went to the two tool outlets and I went to Dress Barn. I ended up getting 2 dresses (got $10 off for buying 2 and I can wear them to Mandy's rehearsal supper and wedding, and also got 2 slacks outfits. I did need some new clothes, but hate to buy so many at one time. Jimmy was so glad that I did because he has been wanting me to buy some clothes and I hate to shop,. I told him this isn't fair it is YOUR birthday and I get new clothes. It was what he wanted so it was good to him. We went back to the Hampton Inn and went to bed until time to get ready for graduation. Caity and Brian came to the motel and swam with Angie. Graduation was at a Civic Center in Dalton. It was very nice, but so crowded with babies and toddlers who were crying, that it was very difficult to hear the speeches. They graduated and that is what it was about. We went to Outback Steakhouse in Dalton for supper after the ceremony. It is a favorite restaurant for them and they eat there often. The owner came and sat with us for a good while and visited with us all. He ordered 2 servings of the cheese fries for us on the house. We had gotten out of the parking lot early and got there and got our table, which Mark had called and reserved. It took a lot longer for John and Angie and Caity and Brian to get there. Dottie and Nikki came and visited with us for a little while, but Dottie had awoken sick at her stomach on her birthday, which was Sun, May 22. She was still feeling queasey and couldn't even think about a glass of ice waer. John ordered a blooming onion and I ate some of it, too. I just ordered French onion soup for supper, and it was wonderful, but I should not have even ordered it as I couldn't finish it, got too full on the cheese fries and blooming onion. Jimmy ate his steak a little pink and still said it was fantastic. Looking at it, I couldn't believe he ate it because he REALLY doesn't want pink meat.
We went back to Jaimie's after supper and gave Caity her graduation gift which Mark and Jaimie, Dottie and Nikki and Jimmy and I went in to buy.l It is a Toshiba laptop, and sh
