Desert Garden dips are addictive! Winter or summer, the Spinach Dip is great for parties, barbecues and holidays. It's easy to make and sure to be a crowd pleaser! Just add 1.5 cups of sour cream and .5 cup mayonnaise. Each package makes 16 ozs (2 cups).
Meet Desert Gardens Chile & Spice Co.
Desert Gardens Chile & Spice Co. started in 1989 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Founders, Mark and Evonne, had been in the restaurant business for fifteen years and opened a Mexican themed fast food drive through restaurant about a year prior to launching their spice company. Things were going pretty well until a national competitor drastically lowered their prices nationwide; unable to compete, they were forced to close.
With a little over 600 lbs of the original recipe taco and enchilada sauce mixes left from the restaurant, Mark and Evonne decided to repackage the bulk spices in small single serve bags to sell to gift stores and at arts and craft fairs.
After much success, in 2003, Mark and Evonne, developed Providing Comfort, a charity of Comfort Foods. Their goal is to provide one meal per month for each homeless and needy person through local organizations. They have given 500,000 meals so far, and love great feeling of giving back.
