You can never go wrong with a classic like peanuts. These crunchy, perfectly salty bites are sure to make your day, any time of day.
Meet Hubs
In 1954 Dot Hubbard decided to stay home to raise her growing family. She developed a great recipe and technique for cooking Virginia peanuts. Friends and family loved them and soon a true mail order business was born. In 1954, there were few of these businesses in the U.S.A. and even fewer that shipped boxes of food. UPS wasn’t operating in Virginia and FedEx hadn't been founded.
As word spread, it was soon impossible to keep up with the demand. Dot's husband HJ worked with local engineers to design and develop equipment to help meet demand without compromising quality. The system he devised is still in place today.
With changing technology, advances in logistics, safeguarding of credit cards, monitoring of food safety, training and maintaining employee health and safety, government regulations, building expansions, and other factors of growth, cooking peanuts and mailing small packages has become far more complicated.
The one thing the Hubbard family never lost sight of is quality. From sourcing the best peanuts to ensuring order accuracy and excellent service, the experience of each customer is paramount in the minds of each member of the team.
Today, Hubs ships peanuts to most almost everywhere in the world. They can be found in a variety of stores throughout the United States. And Hubs are still cooked in Sedley, where they were originally born.
